first day at school :)
Haha.. after all that slacking around (and ice cream), it's finally school time for me. Today's a relatively long day for me starting at 9.30 and ends at 6.30. Sounds like a killer, but so far it's ok cos the teacher's very nice to let us go off around half aan hour to 40 min earlier. So my next lecture, which is a very serious and formal sounding Global History, Technology and International Security, is starting at 3.30. Meanwhile, I'll keep myself entertained by blogging in air-conditioned comfort ~zzz~
My coursemates are pretty ok, some nice girls around but generally they stick to their own circle of frens. I guess that's pretty natural cos they could have known one another for quite some time. Sort of like from JC to uni kind of transition, except that for me, I'm going straight into 2nd year. Totally new faces and environment, and the culture here's different as well. Have a lot of catching up to do, as in this course, we're expected to be very up-to-date on current affairs and what's happening in the city. One good thing about Singapore is that there's only 1 newspaper (probably not so good for news variety) but for a journalism student, that makes for pretty light reading. Here, there're so much more choices in terms of media, and we're expected to keep up with at least one daily newspaper and tune in to tv and radio news everyday! This sounds pretty easy, but I've never even done these things on a regular basis even while I was back home :p so you can imagine how far behind i am here. Oh well, it's always a good time to start cultivating a strong interest in news, especially in other mediums such as radio and tv cos they're more instant than newspapers and probably more exciting as well.
That's all I'm going to say for today. Thinking of what to eat for dinner later. Not sleepy now but can't say about later. Hopefully I dun doze off in lecture. Take care!
