Why are there so many psychos in the world?
although I know that evil balances the good in this world, sometimes I can't help but feel that there is too much evil in the world for the truly good to fight against. Just read the newspaper online (it has become a daily practice... would rather read online than trudge down to the 7/11 which takes another 15 min to reach) and there was this sad story about how this psycho in the outer suburbs of Melbourne (which is really far from the city, so dun worry...) who broke into these little girls' homes and attacked them. One girl's body was found a year after her abduction. She had been shot execution-style three times in the head. The picture of the rest of her family grieving at the site where her body was found just makes me feel a deep sadness and rage at how the culprit may never be found and continue living his double life, creating more tragedies.
The Age news report described his profile as someone who "has an intense interest in children, especially children in the age group he is assaulting. He will spend a great deal of time with these children in what appears to be selfless dedication to students. This apparent dedication may well have earned him recognition and awards (teacher of the year, coach of the year, exceptional volunteer, etc). He is a functional individual, one with steady employment, is generally regarded as a good neighbour, polite, quiet, somewhat introverted, but may be involved in certain community-minded projects."
Doesn't that just sound sick to you? It sure does to me. While the rest of the world reads, sighs and moves on, the families of these poor girls would never be the same again
